Meloni sees Macron
“The most important relationships of people”
Vita gazette – Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who harshly criticizes the French government and Macron and says that the source of the immigration crisis from Africa is France’s colonization policy, met Emmanuel Macron in Rome.
Emmanuel Macron meets Giorgia Meloni in a luxurious hotel on the Gianicolo and puts an end to doubts about relations between Rome and Paris after the advent of the conservative leader at Palazzo Chigi: “Relations between Italy and France are more important than people”.
Macron to remove any doubts by speaking to Agi: “I met Giorgia Meloni here. We preferred this meeting to be informal, but it is important in the context of relations between Italy and France and the European Union”. Cordial and fruitful discussion, lasting over an hour, between the Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and French President Emmanuel Macron. During the meeting, albeit informal, all the leading European dossiers were discussed: the need to give quick and common answers on expensive energy, support for Ukraine, the difficult economic situation, and the management of migratory flows. The presidents of Italy and France agreed on the desire to continue with a collaboration on the tremendous common challenges at the European level and in respect of mutual national interests. So it is written in a note from Palazzo Chigi.
After the meeting, Macron posted on Twitter.
“As Europeans, as neighbouring countries, as friendly peoples, with Italy, we must continue all the work we have begun. Succeeding together, with dialogue and ambition, we owe it to our young people and our people. Our first meeting in Rome, Giorgia Meloni, goes in this direction”. French President Emmanuel Macron wrote it on Twitter at the end of the meeting in Rome with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
