Human and animal rights

Algeria – France: The largest party and coalition partner of the Algerian Parliament, the National Liberation Front (UKC), demanded that France recognize and apologize for the massacre committed by the police against Algerians on 17 October 1961 in Paris. (16 Oct)

England: According to a study published in the PLOS Digital Health, Scientists conducted a Biobank Project study. The study, which involved more than 100,000 Britons, began in 2006 and will continue for another 14 years. (22 Oct)

Researchers collected 6-minute slices of participants who wore motion sensors on their wrists, recording their daily walks. The scientists measured the condition of the heart and lungs during these walks of the mixed racers and compared them with the average of their age groups. The study’s results estimated participants’ risk of death in the next five years with 72% accuracy.

Iraqi: In the Iraqi city of Mosul, archaeologists began restoration work at the Masaki Gate, which ISIS destroyed. During the studies, archaeologists found 2,700-year-old Assyrian remains. According to the news of AFP, the Ministry of Antiquities of Iraq said that the ruins date back to the Assyrian King Sanherib, who ruled the ancient city of Nineveh from 705 to 681 BC.
