The South African variant of Covid is frightening!

Omicron, the new mutation of Covid-19 discovered in South Africa, continues to spread in Europe. After the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and England, it is also in Italy.

Vita Gazette: The mysterious Corona, which has been the number one agenda item of everyone and every country for almost two years, appeared before the world this time with the mask of South Africa. The new variant called ‘Omicron’, which scientists find much more dangerous because it contains many different mutations, has reached Europe. Italy has imposed an entry ban to 7 African countries after alarming developments. Despite the measures taken, the virus was also seen in Italy.

The World Health Organization (WHO) placed the coronavirus variant B.1.1.529, which was first detected in South Africa, into the worrying variant category and named the variant Omicron, the 15th letter of the Greek alphabet. WHO has announced that this variant has the potential to recur in people who have had the disease, according to preliminary determinations. The variant has a large number of different mutations. The organization noted that it may take several weeks to fully understand the variant’s features.

“I have signed a new decree banning entry to Italy for anyone in South Africa, Lesotho, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Namibia, Eswatini,” Health Minister Roberto Speranza said. The same decision was taken by some other European countries and also by the USA. Israel promptly canceled flights to and from South Africa.
