Laura Pausini: “Nice to meet you”

Pleased to meet you is the Amazon Original film written by Ivan Cotroneo, Monica Rametta and Laura Pausini produced by Endemol Shine Italia arriving on Prime Video on April 7th. Directed by Ivan Cotroneo himself, the film stars Laura Pausini and her career, which began at the Sanremo Festival and culminated with the performance in Los Angeles. As Laura Pausini herself said, Pleasure to meet you was born from her idea. “Shortly before the lockdown, I woke up one night and started writing this story that has been in my head for twenty-nine years,” she said during the press meeting. If on paper, Pleasure to meet you may seem like a self-celebrating product, in reality, the film with Laura Pausini opens reflections that are not at all obvious when dealing with fame and, above all, with the race for success at any cost.
Laura Pausini, with her off-screen voice, wonders what her life would have been like if she had never won the Sanremo Festival with La Solitudine. The story thus proceeds with an alternate montage, where Laura Pausini’s successes – between Grammy and Golden Globe – alternate with a story in which the singer from Romagna has reinvented herself as a ceramics artist, with a “common” life still devoted to the piano bar, just like in its early days.
