Towards the elections: 25 September:
“The agreement between the Democratic Party, Action and + Europe”
Vita gazette – Democratic Party, Action and + Europe in agreement. The leaders of the political forces that will form the alliance, the former deputies of the M5s and Forza Italia will not be candidates in the single-member constituencies. The total of candidates in the single-member constituencies of the coalition was determined equal to 70% (Democratic Party) and 30% (+ Europe / Action) between Democrats and Progressives and Action / + Europe, less those to be attributed to other lists of the electoral alliance from the total number of voters.
Pd, Action and + Europe have reached a political agreement in view of the elections on 25 September. “The parties undertake not to nominate personalities who may be divisive for their respective electorates in single-member constituencies, to increase the alliance’s chances of winning”, reads the document signed by Enrico Letta, Carlo Calenda and Benedetto Della Vedova. Consequently, the leaders of the political forces that will make up the alliance, the former MPs of the M5s and Forza Italia will not be candidates in the single-member constituencies.
The quotas in the nominations
“The totality of the candidates in the single-member constituencies of the coalition – the agreement still provides – will be divided between Democrats and Progressives and Action / + Europe to the extent of 70% (Democratic Party) and 30% (+ Europe / Action), deducting from the total of the constituencies those that will be attributed to the other lists of the electoral alliance. This relationship will be applied to the different groups of colleges that will be identified by mutual agreement “.
Draghi’s foreign policy continues!
In the electoral pact signed by the Democratic Party and Action / Europe, “the importance of continuing with the foreign and defense policy guidelines of the Draghi government with particular reference to the Ukrainian crisis and the fight against Putin’s regime” is recognized.
Renzi risks not being elected
The Letta-Calenda agreement pushes Italia Viva to go alone and Renzi risks not being elected. After the agreement between Enrico Letta and Carlo Calenda, Matteo Renzi announces the Italia Viva line: never ally with those who brought down the Draghi government.
