Pope, Vatican: “Conditions stable, improvements confirmed”

Pope Francis’ health conditions are “stationary”. The Vatican announced this in the latest bulletin on the health conditions of the Pontiff, who has been hospitalized for almost a month at the Policlinico Gemelli for bilateral pneumonia.

The Pope is in stable conditions, the X-ray confirms the improvements of the past few days. “The clinical conditions of the Holy Father, in the complexity of the general picture, have remained stationary. The chest X-ray performed yesterday radiologically confirmed the improvements recorded in the previous days”.

At the Gemelli, Francis continues to alternate high-flow oxygen therapy during the day and non-invasive mechanical ventilation at night. Yesterday he was also connected with the Spiritual Exercises. Respiratory and motor physiotherapy continue. The Holy Father continues to perform high-flow oxygen therapy during the day and non-invasive mechanical ventilation during his nighttime rest.

Yesterday morning, after following the Spiritual Exercises in connection with the Paul VI Hall, he received the Eucharist, dedicated himself to prayer and, subsequently, to motor physiotherapy.

In the afternoon, after joining the Spiritual Exercises of the Curia, he continued his prayer, rest and continued his respiratory physiotherapy”.
