Fake phone call from two comedians at Meloni
Meloni: “Ukraine did not have the success expected”
Vita gazette – Russian comedians and the prank call to Giorgia Meloni. On Ukraine, Meloni admitted: “Ukraine’s counteroffensive is not going as expected and has not changed the fate of the conflict. Everyone understands that it could last many years if we don’t try to find a solution.”
Two comedians pierced the Italian diplomatic system. On September 18, two well-known Russian comedians, Vovan & Lexus, called Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on the phone; one posed as an African leader. Together, they engaged her in a conversation about foreign policy.
On Ukraine, Meloni admitted: “There is a lot of tiredness on all sides, and the moment is approaching when everyone will understand that we need a way out. The problem is to find a way out that is acceptable to both sides without destroying international law. I have some ideas for handling this situation, but I’m waiting for the right time to put them on the table. Ukraine did not have the success expected in the spring. Ukraine’s counteroffensive is perhaps not going as they expected. It is progressing, but it has not changed the fate of the conflict. Everyone understands it could last many years if we don’t try to find a solution. In any case, the deceived prime minister adds that the Ukrainians are doing what they have to do, what is right to do, and we are trying to help them”.
The note from Palazzo Chigi: “The Office of the Diplomatic Advisor to the President of the Council of Ministers regrets having been misled by an impostor who pretended to be the President of the African Union Commission and who was put in contact via telephone call with President Meloni.
In the past, Vladimir Kuznetsov and Aleksej Stolyarov, these are the actual names of Vovan & Lexus, had targeted other international leaders, such as the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez, the Danish Foreign Minister, Lars Lokke Rasmussen, and the former secretary of the US State, Henry Kissinger.
