Eurovision 2023: Sweden wins, Italy is fourth
Vita gazette – Sweden wins the Eurovision 2023 final. Loreen won with her Tatoo. Italy with Two Lives by Marco Mengoni conquers the fourth place.
This time Sweden, waiting in the NATO reception hall from two neighboring countries, came first, and new NATO member Finland came second. Marco Mengoni comes fourth with Two Lives after Finland and Israel. The national juries expressed their votes by assigning 12 points to the preferred nation: Italy received those of San Marino, Austria, Croatia, Romania and Slovenia. Marco Mengoni won the critics prize. The commentary from Italy was entrusted to Mara Maionchi and Gabriele Corsi. The opening of the event was entrusted to the Kalush Orchestra with Kate Middleton at the piano. The finalists, the Big Five and Ukraine, to which are added the 20 singers selected during the first and second semi-finals, paraded in the opening with the flag of their country: After 26 performances Mahmood sang Imagine by John Lennon illuminating the arena in Liverpool.
Representing Italy is Marco Mengoni who sang the winning song at the Sanremo festival, “Due vite”. But what caught the attention of the fans was a small detail during the classic flag parade at the beginning of the show.
Two lives, two flags
The Italian singer showed up on the Eurovision stage with two flags: the first Italian tricolor and the second with the lgbt flag.
