“Rino Gaetano Day” for the anniversary of the artist’s death
Vita gazette – Many artists and guests will take turns on stage at Parco Talenti in Rome today and tomorrow in honour of the great artist Rino Gaetano on the 42nd anniversary of his death.
Rino Gaetano died on June 2, 1981, in a car accident. He was a great artist. Unforgettable even many years later.
He is remembered for his rough voice, the irony and deep lyrics characteristic of his songs, and the social denunciation hidden behind apparently light and disengaged lyrics.
This year is the thirteenth edition of the Rino Gaetano Day, which every year – since 2011 – is organised by his family, in particular by his sister Anna and nephew Alessandro. The theme changes from year to year, and for 2023, the focus is on environmental sustainability. Sea Shepherd Italy will support the review.
The Rino Gaetano Day will begin at 18 with an unpublished selection of songs that the author listened to from his vinyl collection created by his nephew, which will be broadcast until the opening of the emerging musical projects on both days. On Friday, 2 June, however, LaMario will present the evening, and the guests will be Leo Gassmann, Comete and Luciano D’Abbruzzo. The artists who will take the stage are Dario Gabrieli, Matteo Massetti and Antidoti Label. Followed by Naive, Matteo Costanzo, and Mille, an artist already known to the public for Rino Gaetano Day.
While on June 3, they will present Gaia Messerklinger and Greg with guests Pierdavide Carone, Lorenzo Lepore and Giulio Wilson. Next, the emerging artists Thogo and LAVE were on stage, followed by Guidobaldi and Daniele De Gregori. The Rino Gaetano Band, the only official tribute to Rino Gaetano, founded in 1999 by his sister Anna to keep the artist’s memory alive, will accompany the audience on both evenings on a journey through different stories and songs performed to retrace the vibrant production Rino’s artistic record made up of six albums and one life.
