Vita gazette – Italian cinema pays homage to one of the most excellent Italian and international cinema interpreters one hundred years after his birth.
Oscar-winning Italian actor Marcello Mastroianni is one of the enduring icons of the silver screen. For his long career, Marcello Mastroianni has also given life to unforgettable characters linked to Sicily. The XVI edition of the Oritigia Film Festival, directed by Lisa Romano and Paola Poli, is scheduled until July 13th at the Ortea Palace in Syracuse and from July 19th to August 2nd at the Garibaldi Theater in Avola the exhibition Homage to Marcello – The man Marcello, the actor Mastroianni and the images of the films shot in Sicily about Marcello Mastroianni.
Scheduled until July 13th in Syracuse and from July 19th to August 2nd in Avola, the shots are taken from the sets of his most famous films, from Divorce Italian Style by Pietro Germi to Everybody’s Fine by Giuseppe Tornatore. In many of these films, the actor gave life to unforgettable characters linked to Sicily.
The retrospective collects the most significant moments captured by great photographers on the sets of some of his famous films in a chronological period that goes from 1957 to the early 2000s.
The shots are taken from the sets of the films White Nights by Luchino Visconti, Il Bell’Antonio by Mauro Bolognini, Divorce Italian Style by Pietro Germi, and They’re All Fine by Giuseppe Tornatore.
