Eurovision 2025: Austria wins with JJ, Italy fifth place
The Eurovision Song Contest 2025 ended with a clear victory for Austria, which won over the public and the jury. Italy ranked fifth, and San Marino closed the competition in last place. Italy, represented by Lucio Corsi, obtained fifth place.
JJ (Johannes Pietsch), born in 2001, with an Austrian father and Filipino mother, won for Austria with Wasted Love the 69th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, which took place last night in Basel, in the packed St. Jakobshalle. As expected, JJ enjoyed the favour of the jury and won that part of the ranking (which weighs 50% of the total) with 258 points.
Italy, represented by Lucio Corsi, who sang Voglio essere un duro, obtained fifth place, confirming its constant presence among the competition’s protagonists. The artist brought an original musical proposal on stage, which was appreciated by both the public and the international jury.
