18 May: European Night of Museums

European Night of Museums: On Saturday, 18 May, there will be a party with evening openings, free admission or at the symbolic cost of 1 euro, guided tours, and many special events in places of art and culture throughout Italy.

The European Night of Museums 2025 returns on Saturday, May 18, and in Italy, a symbolic ticket of 1 euro allows you to enter some of the city’s most beautiful art venues. On Saturday, May 17, and Sunday, May 18, 2025, numerous museums and cultural sites in the Metropolitan City will open and join online for a special weekend dedicated to art and culture.

The initiative, which is taking place simultaneously throughout Europe, includes extraordinary evening openings and entry at the symbolic cost of 1 euro (where admission is charged) at the leading museums, monumental complexes, parks and state-owned archaeological sites. Many of the regional directorates’ museums throughout Italy participate in the initiative with a rich program of meetings and visits created to engage a broad, cross-sectional audience.

The initiative is promoted by the French Ministry of Culture and sponsored by UNESCO, the Council of Europe, and the @icomofficiel. It co-occurs throughout Europe and intends to encourage and promote knowledge of national and European cultural heritage and identity. Doors open from sunset to late at night, and free entry or, at the symbolic price, 1 euro: this is the formula of the Museum Night, which returns on Saturday, 18 May, throughout Italy and Europe.

The list of participating state museums, which is continuously updated, as well as the events and times of extraordinary evening openings, is available on cultura.gov.it
