“Russian ministers said we are already at war with them because we are providing arms and funding to Ukraine. But I’m very, very, very worried. So I reconnected a little bit with President Putin, a little bit much, in the sense that for my birthday, he sent me twenty bottles of vodka and a lovely letter. I answered him with bottles of Lambrusco and an equally sweet letter. I recognized him as a peaceful and sensible person. “He declared me the first of his five true friends.” Thus Silvio Berlusconi, according to what LaPresse learned during his speech at the meeting of the Forza Italia assembly in the Chamber for the election of the group leader.

Fontana: “sanctions could be boomerangs.”

In Bruno Vespa’s living room, the new Speaker of the Chamber, Lorenzo Fontana, warned of sanctions against Russia. And he said, “He could come back to us like a boomerang.”

“Europe did very well in the beginning to impose sanctions. But now, on that front, we need to be careful because, with the counter-sanctions that Russia is giving us, we could give in before them because our population is less accustomed to suffering than the Russian one. He added that we must be careful with the sanctions because if they become a boomerang, we could aid the Speaker of the Chamber, Lorenzo Fontana, at “Porta a Porta”.
