Prime Minister Meloni in Brussels:

“Italy’s voice in Europe will be strong”

As expected Giorgia Meloni chose Brussels for her first visit abroad as the new Italian Prime Minister. In succession she met the three presidents of the EU institutions: Roberta Metsola, of the European Parliament, Ursula von der Leyen, of the Commission and Charles Michel of the European Council.

Meloni has softened his anti-European rhetoric and said he sees the EU institutions as potential allies and is ready for any kind of cooperation.

“I wanted to give the signal that I brought in today’s day of an Italy that obviously wants to participate, collaborate, defend its national interests, and do so within the European dimension, seeking the best solutions together with other countries on the great challenges” Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said.
