Taormina Film Fest 2022: Boiling Point is the best film

Vita gazette – The winners of the Taormina Film Fest 2022 have been announced. Boiling Point by Philip Barantini is the best film of the 68th edition which also wins for best direction, conquering the coveted Golden and Silver Charybdis. Stephen Graham plays Andy, a head chef in an upscale restaurant who sees him struggling with both personal and financial problems and having a rather stormy night where he will be forced to face his team and handle the pressure of the day more challenging of the year, the opening of his new restaurant. The film, shot in a single sequence shot, garnered four BAFTA nominations, eleven nominations and four British Independent awards.

In addition to the prizes related to the competition, the “Taormina Film Fest 2022” celebrates Oscar Awards and myths of international cinema with the Taormina Award already delivered on the opening night to Francis Ford Coppola and delivered for the closing ceremony on the stage of the Ancient Theater also to Giuseppe Tornatore: his award-winning and critically acclaimed documentary Ennio will be preceded by the musical performance of the Orchestra in Plettro Città di Taormina which will perform some famous pieces by Maestro Morricone. On the stage of the Ancient Theater, the violinist and composer nominated for the Golden Globe Carlo Siliotto will give the audience his memory of the great Ennio Morricone.
