Climate activists painted the historic door orange

In Berlin, the capital of Germany, climate activists from the organisation called “Last Generation” painted the Brandenburg Gate, one of the most important symbols of the city and the country, orange with spray paint as a protest. According to the statement made by the police, 13 activists who painted the six columns of the historical gate were detained. Simultaneously with the action, paint was spilt on Pariser Platz before the historical gate.
Berlin State Prime Minister Kai Wegner harshly criticised the painted protest at the Brandenburg Gate because it damaged historical columns. After the action, the security strip was pulled, and the paint on the historical gate was cleaned.
