Turin, cigarettes banned outdoors
Vita gazette – After Milan, a smoking ban has also been implemented in Turin. You cannot smoke outdoors within 5 meters of other people unless express consent is given.
While legal measures are rapidly increasing around the world to protect individuals and society from the harms of smoking, Italy is also taking serious measures in this regard.
Parliament recently passed a bill banning new generations from accessing cigarettes for life in England. Therefore, as part of the initiative to create a “smoke-free generation,” the sale of cigarettes to those born after January 1, 2009, was prohibited. In other words, with the new law approved, children who will turn 15 years old will not be able to buy cigarettes for life.
Even in Turin, you cannot smoke outdoors within 5 meters of other people unless express consent is given. A ban, therefore, not only in closed places but also in queues, at bus stops, at outdoor events, in parks and outdoor areas. Milan already has a smoking ban if people are within 10 metres. In Turin, the distance is shorter. If friends consent, smoking in the company at an outdoor table will be possible if it is not near other tables. However, the ban is total in the presence of children or pregnant women.
