Turin, Capital of Cinema

From November 21 to 29, 2025, Turin returns to being the capital of the big screen with the 43rd Turin Film Festival. With world premieres, meetings, and awards, cinema rekindles the city.

The 43rd edition of the Turin Film Festival will take place from November 21 to November 29, 2025, under the aegis of the National Cinema Museum, chaired by Enzo Ghigo and directed by Carlo Chatrian, with artistic direction by Giulio Base. The Turin Film Festival aims to combine authorship and popularity, balancing independent cinema, world premieres, and major guests, but without TV series.

From approximately 6,000 titles, Giulio Base and his selectors chose the 120 films that make up the program of the Festival’s various sections: three competitive (Feature Films, Documentaries, and Short Films) and three non-competitive (Out of Competition, Zibaldone, and Retrospective).

La cerimonia d’apertura si svolgerà venerdì 21 novembre alle 18.45 al Teatro Regio di Torino, condotta da Laura Chiatti e Giulio Base. La retrospettiva 2025 è dedicata a Paul Newman, nel centenario della nascita. Venticinque titoli per attraversare la carriera di un’icona che ha ridefinito il concetto di divismo e libertà, da Nick mano fredda a La stangata, da Hud il selvaggio a Era mio padre. Saranno consegnate le “Stelle della Mole” a sette protagonisti del cinema mondiale: Jacqueline Bisset, Daniel Brühl, Sergio Castellitto, Spike Lee, Claude Lelouch, Stefania Sandrelli e Aleksandr Sokurov.

Following this, the Italian premiere of Eternity by David Freyne, a romantic fantasy comedy starring Miles Teller, Elizabeth Olsen, Callum Turner, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph, distributed by I Wonder Pictures.

The program of the 43rd edition includes 120 films, including features, documentaries, and shorts, chosen from over 5,500 submissions.

Among the most anticipated titles are Eva by Emanuela Rossi, Bobò by Pippo Delbono, Resurrection by Bi Gan, Kiss of the Spider Woman by Bill Condon starring Jennifer Lopez and Diego Luna, and Zorro by Sergio Castellitto.

Eternity by David Freyne will open the Festival on the evening of November 21st, while Nuremberg by James Vanderbilt is the closing film. In between, a succession of major titles will be presented, accompanied by important guests, such as: Untitled Home Invasion Romance, presented by director Jason Biggs; Separazioni by Stefano Chiantini starring Barbora Bobulova; Avemmaria by Fortunato Cerlino, making his directorial debut, also starring Salvatore Esposito; Bobò by Pippo Delbono; Strike – Figli di un’era sbagliato by G. Berti, G. Nasta, D. Tricarico, featuring Pilar Fogliati, Lorenzo Zurzolo, and Matilde Gioli; Danny Boyle’s 127 Hours which will star James Franco; Michael Zampino’s Laghat, presented by Hyppolite Girardot and starring Edoardo Pesce; Nora Jaenicke’s Isola, starring Joanna Kulig; Andrew Holmes’ Dolph: Unbreakable, presented by Dolph Lundgren himself (the famous Ivan Drago in Rocky IV); Palestinian director and activist Farah Nabulsi, presents The Teacher; Carlo Gabriel Nero and his father Franco Nero present The Estate; French actress Dominique Sanda presents Vita mia, the new film by Edoardo Winspeare; and Ameer Fakher Eldin’s Yunan, presented by German actress and singer Hanna Schygulla.

CONCORSO LUNGOMETRAGGI

Special attention is paid to social and environmental issues, with events dedicated to November 25th, the day for the elimination of violence against women, and the adoption of sustainable practices according to the AFIC Green Festival Guide.

The 43rd edition of the Torino Film Festival welcomes a constellation of Italian and international stars. From masters of auteur cinema to new faces on the contemporary scene, here are the guests who will illuminate the red carpet and the festival halls.
