The Great Italian Work, a World Heritage Site
Vita gazette – Verona’s ancient Roman Arena hosted a star-studded classical concert on Friday to celebrate the addition of Italian opera singing to UNESCO’s list of intangible world heritage.
Italy celebrated the inclusion of Italian opera in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list with a gala concert at the Verona Arena, one of the largest ancient theatres in the world. On June 7 (Last night), the biggest stars of opera and dance gathered in the world’s largest open-air theatre to celebrate Italian opera, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The evening, hosted by Alberto Angela, Cristiana Capotondi and Luca Zingaretti, was accompanied by the extraordinary participation of Maestro Riccardo Muti.
Present were the high officials of the State, Prime Minister Meloni, President Mattarella, UNESCO ambassadors and delegates, entrepreneurs, actors, influencers. These are just some of the great heroes who took to the stage at the Verona Arena. Roberto Bolle and Nicoletta Manni’s extraordinary dance shows made the night even more magical. The soloists were accompanied by 160 orchestra professors and 300 choristers selected by Italy’s leading opera-symphonic organisations. A true triumph of music and art, directed by the extraordinary master Riccardo Muti.
Three leading figures of the Italian culture and entertainment world, Alberto Angela, Cristiana Capotondi and Luca Zingaretti, guided the audience on this fascinating journey, which included works that wrote the history of Italian music. The presenters accompanied the audience in discovering the secrets and curiosities of the opera world through intriguing stories and anecdotes.
