United States: Joe Biden withdraws from the presidential race
Vita gazette – Joe Biden has officially announced that he has withdrawn from the race for the White House.
After weeks of pressure to reconsider his re-election campaign, US President Joe Biden has announced his withdrawal as the Democratic Party’s nominee.
In a letter on his social media late Sunday, Biden said the decision “is in the best interest of my party and the country.”
In his message, Biden supported Vice President Kamala Harris. “Today, I want to offer my full support for Kamala to be our party’s nominee this year. Democrats: It’s time to unite and beat Trump. Let’s do it,” Biden wrote.
Among the first reactions to the announcement was that of his political opponent for the American presidential elections, Donald Trump. In a phone call with CNN, the tycoon described Biden as “the worst president in the history of our country”. Trump himself has said he believes Vice President Kamala Harris will be easier to defeat than Biden would have been. Then there is the comment on the social Truth. “The corrupt Joe Biden was not fit to run for president, and he certainly isn’t fit to be president. He never was. He got to the position of president through lies. Fake news and without leaving his basement.”
