La Dolcevita-sur-Seine and La Nouvelle Vague on the Tiber
Vita gazette – There is another dream festival in Rome. The Rome-Paris Twinning Festival, with the “Dolcevita-sur-Seine” Festival, takes place from 12 to 16 July in the Arènes de Lutèce, the Colosseum in Paris. On the same day, “Nouvelle Vague sul Tevere”, the most Parisian of the Roman festivals, returns to the Casa del Cinema in Villa Borghese.
The days of culture, art and festivals never end in Rome. All are full of fascinating events and participants. From Friday 12th to Tuesday 16 July, the Casa del Cinema will host the third edition of Nouvelle Vague sul Tiber, created by Lutetia and Palatine in collaboration with Fondazione Cinema per Roma. During the festival, the Casa del Cinema will also host the photographic exhibition “10 to Watch” dedicated to the protagonists of new French cinema. On the opening and final evenings, live streaming with the sister festival Dolcevita-sur-Seine will take place simultaneously at the Arènes de Lutèce in Paris.
The event opened with a tribute to François Truffaut, forty years after his death, with the screening of his latest work, Vivement Dimanche!, a light hymn to comedy, cinema, and life: the actress introduced the film and director Carolina Pavone. The following day, Alice Winocour will take the viewer into a powerful reconstruction story with her Revoir Paris, while on Monday 15th, Mia Hansen-Løve will tell, with Un beau matin, a Paris made of life lived and impossible balances. Also on the program are two different coming-of-age stories that open a window on the languages of the present: Stella est amoureuse will see the presence of director Sylvie Verheyde and the leading actor Flavie Delangle. In contrast, the director Jean-Baptiste Durand will participate in the screening of Chien de la Casse and the actress Galatea Bellugi. During the festival days, the Casa del Cinema will also host the photographic exhibition “10 to Watch”, dedicated to the protagonists of new French cinema. On the opening and final evenings, live streaming with the sister festival Dolcevita-sur-Seine will take place simultaneously at the Arènes de Lutèce in Paris. Aureliano Tonet, LeMonde’ss film critic, will welcome the public every evening.
