Prix Italy: Get Real

Prix Italia 2025 kicks off today, running from October 20 to 24, 2025, in the vibrant city of Naples. This event stands as a powerful platform for cultural and media dialogue, centered around the compelling theme “Get Real.”

As the oldest and most prestigious international competition, Prix Italia recognizes the finest radio, television, and multimedia productions from both public and private broadcasters. Since its inception in 1948, RAI has proudly organized this event under the esteemed High Patronage of the President of the Italian Republic.

This week, Naples—a city rich in history and a dynamic crossroads of cultures—hosts an impressive lineup of local and global events that embody the spirit of “Get Real.” Prix Italia 2025 is committed to showcasing groundbreaking innovation, social responsibility, and the brilliance of creativity from Italy and beyond. The focus on authentic storytelling and a robust response to the challenge of fake news highlights our dedication to fostering unity and inclusion while equipping younger generations with the knowledge they need to combat misinformation.

Naples is ideally positioned to host initiatives that celebrate its unique traditions and cultural heritage. Over 40 exciting events will take place across key venues such as Teatro San Carlo and Palazzo Zapata, providing attendees with access to renowned directors, talented individuals, and vital insights through a dedicated QR code and social media platforms. The program features engaging public projects in city squares, free previews, direct interactions between juries and authors, and a spectacular awards ceremony for finalist projects, all broadcast globally from the Cortile d’Onore of the Royal Palace. Collaborations with prominent RAI programs, including “Uno Mattina,” will further highlight local areas, featuring well-known personalities from daytime TV.

This year, the Prix Italia puts a spotlight on the documentary genre, reinforcing its role as a forum for meaningful encounters and exchanges among diverse cultures, languages, and media. The competition showcases 238 outstanding programs submitted by 89 broadcasters from 60 countries, each exploring the multifaceted nature of contemporary life and tackling future challenges with innovative interpretations of reality. The festival will be accessible on RaiPlay and Rai Italia without geo-blocking, as well as through RAI’s mainstream TV and radio channels, including “Uno Mattina,” a dedicated special on Rai 1, the daily TGR segment on Rai 3, “Paparazzi” on Rai Italia, and Rai News 24. All international events will be presented in English and Italian, with select events also available in sign language.

Accredited participants will enjoy complimentary access to events at the Appartamento di Etichetta in the Royal Palace. For more information: prixitalia@rai.it.
