by Alessandro Romano

Vita gazette – Elon Musk, engaged in a European tour, made a surprise stop in Rome. Musk expressed his concerns to Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni about Italy’s population decline and the harm of artificial intelligence.

Roman Holiday: is one of the first films that come to mind when discussing Rome and Vespa. Ann, the beautiful young princess of a country, goes on a long journey to Europe. When she arrives in Rome, she realises she is bored with her life. Overwhelmed by unnecessary protocols, false courtesies and princess compulsions, the young girl tries to overcome the situation with a sedative administered by a doctor. After taking drugs, she goes to the city and starts exploring life on the street. At this very moment, the paparazzi Joe Bradley found the princess, who was leaked on a bench due to symptoms of the drug’s effect. Taking the woman home, Joe is unaware that she is a princess. When they wake up the following day, the whole town is shaken by the news that the princess is missing…

This time, the eternal city of Rome was visited by the boss of Twitter, Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk. The starry prince of the world of engineers, inventors, investors and entrepreneurs was in Rome…

Secretly… He met Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani. Musk also discovered la Dolce Vita during his brief surprise visit. Like an Italian, he walked the pastel-coloured streets of the city. He found the Colosseum. He sipped his wine, gazing at the magnificent view of Rome…

The patron of Twitter, Tesla and SpaceX arrived in the morning directly from Texas with a private flight that landed at Ciampino. After the meeting with Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, Elon Musk returned to Palazzo Chigi around 5 pm for an interview with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, which lasted about an hour and a half on the birth rate and artificial intelligence.

“The falling birth rate and the risks of artificial intelligence”

This was stated by Elon Musk addressing the Italians during an interview with Tg1 on his visit to Rome, where he met Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at Palazzo Chigi.

“We had an excellent conversation with Prime Minister Meloni; she seemed to care a lot about Italy and its future; she cares about us,” says Musk. “I, for my part, have raised two fundamental concerns. First, the drop in the birth rate. In Italy, almost twice as many people born die yearly. I have recommended other tax relief for those with children, or in any case, measures to make the birth rate a more sustainable choice”. “Secondly, I talked about the risks of artificial intelligence, the one so powerful that it can submit us in the future”.

Dolce Vita a Roma

After meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Tajani and then Prime Minister Meloni at Palazzo Chigi, he begins to stroll through the alleys, the heart of the city, via del Corso. Walking in the city of dreams, Trapped among the white cars of Roman taxi drivers, he was recognised by a group of passers-by and stopped to say hello. The Tesla owner went to a restaurant in the centre of Rome for lunch. “He had an appetiser, spaghetti with clams and a sole,” said the owner of Tullio. He visited the Colosseum, the symbol of Rome’s immortality.

Musk made an interview on the terrace of the Bernini Bristol hotel, observing the beauty of the immortal city, the domes; “Dolce vita”, between aperitifs admiring the Capital from above in all its beauty and spaghetti with clams.

Quoting the famous song, Musk tweeted in Italian on Twitter, “Rome, how beautiful you are!” he wrote.

But there’s one thing I’m wondering: Did he question his life as Princess Ann?
