Pope Francis: “Gender ideology is the worst danger of our time”
Vita gazette – Pope Francis: “Gender ideology? An ugly danger, erasing the difference is erasing humanity.”
Speaking off the cuff at the international conference “Man-Woman Image of God”, Pope Francis criticized “the ideology of gender”. And he announced that he had asked for specific studies “on gender ideology,” which he considers “today’s ugliest danger” because it “cancels differences”. Finally, Pope Francis recommended a novel: “It speaks of the future and is prophetic because it shows this tendency to erase all differences.”
“bad ideology”
“The worst danger of our time is gender ideology, which cancels out differences. I asked to study this ugly ideology, which makes everything the same. Gender ideology. I asked for studies to be carried out on this nasty ideology of our time, which erases differences and makes everything the same; erasing differences is erasing humanity. Man and woman, however, are in a fruitful tension.
Finally, I recommend reading a book on the topic, ‘The Lord of the World’ written in 1907 in London by Robert Hugh Benson. I remember reading a novel from the early twentieth century, The Lord of the World, written by the son of the Archbishop of Canterbury. The novel talks about the future and is prophetic because it shows this tendency to erase all differences. If you have time, it’s interesting to read it because today’s problems exist. That man was a prophet,” said Bergoglio.
