Vita gazette – Taormina is a living room at Christmas it is even more intimate and sparkling. And the fairy tale began here. The streets are filled with decorations and colored lights, the Christmas markets are filled with goodies for children and everything has a family flavor. The nativity scenes and the large tree in Piazza IX Aprile are making us feel right at home.

Organized by the Tourism, Sport and Entertainment Department of the Sicilian Region and organized by the Taormina Arte Foundation, the Tao Christmas Festival has begun.

The Tao Christmas Fest 2022 program for the Taormina Winter Festival, which bears the signature of the superintendent Ester Bonafede and the artistic director Beatrice Venezi, takes its cue, for the first three days, from the centenary of the birth of Pier Paolo Pasolini, with the selection of films by the director, a photographic exhibition and, again, a comparison between intellectuals, journalists, politicians and artists, on the themes dealt with in life by the poet who more than any other has aroused the cultural debate in Italy. The festival continues with an intense activity featuring classical music, jazz, swing, soundtracks, traditional songs, and melodies. While a section will be dedicated to cinema, photography, poetry, prose performances and contamination between the arts. The season, among other things, is characterized by the collaboration between important bodies such as the Sciascia Foundation, the Cineteca di Bologna, the New Scarlatti Orchestra, the Teatro Stabile del Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Sicilian Jazz Orchestra – The Brass Group Foundation, the State of Kazakhstan. The event was created to encourage the attractiveness of Taormina and the neighboring territories in the winter and Christmas holidays, developing sustainable tourism strategies and seasonal adjustment of the offer through cultural events.
