Even though we are apart, we are together!

Pets will share the same cemetery with their owners

By Principessa Vanessa

The first good news of the year started to come from Milan. After the ban on smoking outdoors, our pets were allowed to sleep in the same cemetery as our friends.

Milano started giving news, one after another, that would make people and animals happy. First, smoking, which is harmful to both smokers and non-smokers around them, was banned outdoors. We, your animal friends, are also very pleased with this. First of all, we were very worried about the health of our smoker owners. We all know that smoking is one of the most important causes of cardiovascular and lung diseases.  From now on, they will have to live longer…

The second and best news concerns you, animal lovers, and us: From now on, we can share the same cemetery with our owners. The local government of Milan decided to allow pets’ ashes to be placed in the same grave place as their owners. This application will only be valid for cats, dogs, birds, fish, turtles, and hamsters.

But if you want to sleep with us, you will have to follow some rules. For example, those who wish to be buried with their pet friends or relatives will make a unique application. After this stage, we will be cremated after we die, and our ashes will be placed in a separate cremation urn on the grave of our owner or family…

However, since this pet and its owner have a unique family bond, our names, birth or death dates, and photographs will not be added to the tombstone. Our ashes will not be scattered in the cemetery. Suppose this practice is started to be close to our owner. In that case, naturally, we need to sleep with our ashes in our owner’s cemetery.

However, if you wish, you can place a photo of yourself with us on your tombstone. This will depict how valuable our bond of friendship is.

 Thank you, Municipality of Milan…
