Climate change: exemplary decision from Switzerland

Vita gazette – The Swiss said “Yes” to the regulations on corporate tax, climate change and Kovid-19 laws in the referendum.

According to the news of Le News, the results of the referendum held in Switzerland for the regulations related to the “Corporate Tax Law”, “Climate Change and Innovation Law”, and “Kovid-19 Law” have been announced.

Swiss voters approved the “Corporate Tax Law” with 78.45 per cent, the “Climate Change and Innovation Law” with 59.07 per cent, and the “Kovid-19 Law” with 61.94 per cent.

With the “Corporate Tax Law” passing, the minimum tax applied to prevent tax evasion by multinational companies with annual profits of more than $750 million was increased from 11 per cent to 15 per cent.

The ‘Climate Change and Innovation Act’ includes various incentives and financial assistance to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The approved law aims to protect the rapidly melting glaciers of the Swiss Alps.

Restrictions under the ‘Kovid-19 Law’ aim to be phased out by 2024, despite the epidemic’s end.
