“King Naked” by Berlusconi:
“Putin wanted a government of decent people to replace Zelensky”
Vita gazette: Silvio Berlusconi, former Prime Minister of Italy and leader of Forza Italia (FI) Party, stated that Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelenski is not a decent person. Stating that Russian President Vladimir Putin intervened in Ukraine by taking into account the people, the calls for help from the Donbas, his party and his ministers, Berlusconi said, “Russian troops had to enter and replace the Zelensky government with decent people within a week and return. But then came the unexpected and unpredictable resistance of the Ukrainian troops, equipped with all kinds of weapons by the West.”
Once upon a time in a country there was an oppressive king. Everyone was afraid of him. Whatever he said, they would say “ok, my king, you are right”. The people, out of fear of the oppressive king, acted as if they were “seeing the non-existent dress”. While the king was walking arrogantly among the people, suddenly a child came forward in all his naivety. And the child shouted, “The king is naked”.
Hours before the general elections to be held on Sunday, September 25 in Italy, a situation reminiscent of the cry of “The King is Naked” took place in the television program “Porta Porta”. Silvio Berlusconi, former Prime Minister of Italy and leader of the Forza Italia (FI) Party, came to the fore with his statement on the Russia-Ukraine war. Berlusconi called Zelenkski “an uneven person”. And he interpreted the war in Ukraine as a “response” to calls for help from the Donbas. And he continued with these words:
“The two pro-Russian republics in Donbas went to Moscow and talked to the press, everyone, Putin, and said that Zelensky attacked. They asked for help. Putin was pushed to carry out this special operation by the Russian people in Donbas, his party and their ministers. In fact, the soldiers were supposed to enter Kiev in a week and replace the Zelensky government with other good people and come back a week later. Instead, they encountered unexpected resistance equipped with all kinds of weapons from the West.”
Message from Berlusconi to the Atlantic
Later, Berlusconi tried to correct his comments by commenting on one of his posts on Instagram. His message contained the following statements:
“We stand with Europe, the United States, the West, the Atlantic Alliance, and we will always be with you. We will certainly guarantee the European and Atlantic loyalty of the future government. We couldn’t be part of a government that didn’t have these features.”
Salvini: “We will do everything to stop the war”
“Berlusconi says Putin was forced to invade Ukraine?” to the question, “Don’t ask me to comment. When we are in government, I say we will do everything to stop the war.”
Enrico Letta: Scandalous words
Enrico Letta said, “These are scandalous and very serious words. “I ask Meloni if she shared them.”
Calenda addressed the Forza Italia president directly on Twitter: “Berlusconi, these are your good people? And I’m sorry.”
Matteo Renzi
“I don’t think Berlusconi is the best person to talk about Putin.”
Forza Italia’s national coordinator, Antonio Tajani, tried to soften the impact of Berlusconi’s words and wrote that the party’s position was too clear and there was no possibility of dialogue with the Russian federation.
