Meloni challenged to her coalition partners:

“Those who are not on the Atlantic line must not take part in the government”

Vita gazette – Giorgia Meloni, who is expected to be Italy’s next prime minister, challenged her right-wing coalition partners, saying her new government would be pro-NATO and wholly a part of Europe. And said, “any party that disagreed with the foreign policy line should not join the government, which is set to take office next week.”

Meloni’s statement came after her ally Silvio Berlusconi’s comments on Russian President Vladimir Putin, describing him as a “peace-loving and emotional personality” and blaming Zelensky and the Western world’s military and financial aid for the war in Ukraine.

“I have been, and will always be clear about one thing – remarks the leader of Fdi – I intend to lead a government with an unambiguous line of foreign policy. With its head held high, Italy is fully part of Europe and the Atlantic Alliance. Anyone who disagrees with this cornerstone will not be able to be part of the government, at the cost of not being a government”.

The note of Berlusconi

“In 28 years of political life, the Atlantic choice, Europeanism, and the constant reference to the West as a system of values and alliances between free and democratic countries have been the basis of my commitment as a political leader and a man of government. I explained to the United States Congress friendship and gratitude towards that country are part of the values my father raised me since I was a boy. Nobody, I stress nobody, can afford to question this”. Thus the leader of Forza Italia, Silvio Berlusconi.

“My position and that of Forza Italia do not differ from that of the Italian government, the European Union, or the Atlantic Alliance, neither on the Ukrainian crisis nor on the other major issues of international politics. We have demonstrated this in dozens of official statements, parliamentary acts, votes in the Chambers”, added the leader of Forza Italia, in a note in which he adds he had to” reiterate the obvious “after the audio statements were released. “The fault lies not with the media, obviously forced to spread this news; it is with those who use these methods of dossier unworthy of a civilized country”.

In a leaked audio file released on Tuesday, Berlusconi revealed to parliamentarians from his Forza Italia party that he was back in touch with the Russian president.

In a second file, released by news agency LaPresse on Wednesday, Berlusconi, fiercely critical of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, cited rulers and Ukraine’s aggressive politics as responsible for the war. He also said Western financial and war aid turned the special operation against Ukraine into a protracted war.

The cause of the war is the Ukrainian attacks.

“Do you know how the Russia thing happened? Even on this, I beg you, however, the utmost confidentiality. Do you promise? It went like this: in 2014, in Minsk, Belarus, an agreement was signed between Ukraine and the two newly formed republics of Donbas for a peace agreement without anyone attacking the other. Ukraine threw this treaty to hell a year later and began attacking the borders of the two republics. I am told that the two republics suffer casualties among the military, who arrive at 5-6-7 thousand dead. Zelensky arrives and triples the attacks on the two republics. The dead become. Desperate, the two republics send a delegation to Moscow and finally manage to talk to Putin. They say: ‘Vladimir, we don’t know what to do; you defend us. He – he adds – is opposed to any initiative, resists, and undergoes strong pressure from all over Russia. And then he decided to invent a special operation: the troops had to enter Ukraine, reach Kyiv in a week, overthrow the government in office, Zelensky, etc., and set up a government already chosen by the Ukrainian minority of good and common sense people, another week to go back. He entered Ukraine and found himself faced with an unexpected and unpredictable situation of resistance on the part of the Ukrainians, who began to receive money and weapons from the West on the third day. And the war, instead of being a two-week operation, has become a two-hundred-and-one-year war. So, this is the situation of the war in Ukraine”.

Western weapons and financial aid turned the operation into a prolonged war.

“Then he decides to invent a special operation: the troops had to enter Ukraine, reach Kyiv in one week, overthrow the government in office and impose a government already chosen by the Ukrainian minority of good and common sense people, another week to go back. But at that point, Putin faced an unexpected and unpredictable situation of resistance from the Ukrainians, who had begun to receive money and weapons from the West on the third day. And the war, instead of being a two-week operation, the war has become a war of two-and-a-half years”.

“There are no more leaders, neither in Europe nor in the US”

Berlusconi also added: “What is another risk, another danger that we all have: today, unfortunately, in the Western world, there are no leaders, there are none in Europe and the United States of America. I don’t tell you what I know, but there are no real leaders. Can I make you smile? The only true leader is me…”.
