Stars shine on the Lido

Vita gazette – The 79th Venice International Film Festival, held between 31 August and 10 September, is the scene of colorful and interesting events. Films, events, biographies and many celebrities shine in Lido as the stars of the festival, which promises to be one of the most interesting in recent years.

Notes from Venice…

Wednesday, August 31, Noah Baumbach’s Netflix production starring Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig, “White Noise”, a contemporary American family dramatizing the time it takes to deal with love, death and happiness and life’s conflicts, and Roberto de Paolis’ It started with the movie titled Princess, which tells the story of a young Nigerian illegal immigrant who sells his body at sea.

During the opening ceremony at the Venice Lido, the Lifetime Achievement award was presented to Catherine Deneuve, the Golden Lion.

Thursday, September 1, was Cate Blanchett’s day. Blanchett took part in the festival with the film Tár, in which she played Lydia Tár, who is considered one of the greatest living composers and conductors. Blanchett arrived at the Lido dock in a blue Giorgio Armani suit.

Friday, September 2, was the day of Bones and All, perhaps the most anticipated film of the Festival, directed by Luca Guadagnino. The film chronicles the struggle of a young woman who learns to survive on the margins of society. American director Abel Ferrara’s film has screened the life of “Padre Pio” at Lido.

Saturday, September 3, was the day of the documentary “All the Beauty and the Bloodshed” about Isabelle Huppert “La syndicaliste”, Mia Goth “Pearl” and legendary photographer Nan Goldin.

Sunday, September 4, was Penelope Cruz’s day, she came to the Lido with the movie “L’immensione”  which tells a love story set in 1970s Rome and revolving around Clara and her children. The Whale, is about the efforts of a reclusive English teacher suffering from severe obesity who “left his wife and daughter for the sake of the man he fell in love with, who lost his love after a while, and started to eat out of sadness all the time”, to try to reconnect with his estranged daughter, was also on display.

On Monday, September 5th, the other big host of the festival “Don’t Worry Darling”, was watched, “Harry Styles” directed by his girlfriend Olivia Wilde. Costume designer Arianne Phillips was awarded the Campari Passion for Film.

Tuesday 6 September all up for Tilda Swinton and her “The Eternal Daughter” and Penelope Cruz returns with En los margenes. And Elio Germano and Luigi Lo Cascio are in the cast of Gianni Amelio in “The lord of the ants.”

On Wednesday 7 September,  Casey Affleck and Anthony Hopkins will appear on the red carpet starring with Hugh Jackman of “The Son.”

Thursday 8 September comes the apocalyptic story of the award-winning Italian director Paolo Virzì “Drought”. Set in the midst of a prolonged drought in the Italian capital, the story features actors such as Monica Bellucci, Sara Serrariocco, Silvio Orlando.

And the biopic that has already been talked about a lot about Marilyn Monroe broadcast on Netflix Blonde with Ana De Armas.

Friday 9 September Susanna Nicchiarelli tells the story of Santa Chiara in the homonymous film Chiara, played by Margherita Mazzucco that everyone remembers in the brilliant friend.

Finally, on Saturday 10 September, the talented Alessandro Borghi takes the stage with “Sole di Mezzanotte” directed by Francesco Carrozzini. However, all attention will be focused on the awarding of the Golden Lion at the final event of the Festival.
