Vita Gazette- One of our greatest excellences has received worldwide recognition. The famous “truffle hunting and quarrying” has been included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list.
This morning Italy obtained a new prestigious recognition from Unesco, thanks to the inscription of the “Truffle hunting and quarrying in Italy: traditional knowledge and practices” in the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. The proclamation took place during the sixteenth session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, underway in Paris (13-18 December 2021). Truffles are among the most important tourist, cultural and economic values of the rural and mountain regions of Italy. In the area from the Langa to the Apennines, species of mushrooms ranging from white to black, the Scorzone, are extracted.
